[CDV] No internet/phone after drop burial

I'm new to comcast and everything was great until they came on Friday to bury the drop. When I got home Friday night the internet and phone did not work. I figured maybe there was an outage and I would call if the issue persisted on Saturday. On Saturday things were still broke so I called and it mentioned I had a scheduled appt which is odd.

The rep had no idea why they scheduled an appt for Tuesday but it sounds like the bury person broke something??? It's an all day appt so it must be something outside. Any clues what they broke? TV works but the signal is bad.

Sorry for the spelling and grammar - posted via iPhone.

[CDV] Re: No internet/phone after drop burial

Let's start here: »Comcast High Speed Internet FAQ »How To Get Help!

There are questions that can help the forum members diagnose your issue.

**Just one simple question: Did you reboot your modem/gateway?

As Johkal See Profile referenced, take a look at the FAQ and answers as many questions as you can.

The other thing that I can think of has to do with the actual process of burying the drop. I would guess that they would have to disconnect one end or the other to do that properly, which is probably why things did not work. Maybe in that process of disconnecting / reconnecting they did not do that right, and something may be loose somewhere.

I'd bet money on either they broke the 11 fitting inside the ped, or most likely the stinger at the tap inside the ped isn't in right.

My guess is they gave the hardline a good wack. Happens all the time with them black roots. Or they just cut a bad fitting.

Yes of course I rebooted everything. I had a friend bring over their spare 6121 and it would not sync when plugged. Even when plugged right into the drop bypassing the splitter. Downstream syncs but upstream just flashes.

I assume nothing if not stated.

What about TV? I'm assuming you don't have Cable TV.
