[HN9000] HN9000 Modem keeps resettingI have had my HN9000 for almost 6 years now.. It has never lived up to explanations but now in the last week I have had a new problem creep up on me..
the modem keeps resetting by itself.. In the advanced config page of the modem, it shows = Access Gateway Failure No Probable Cause in the alarm readout tab..
Could it be that a nearly 6 year old modem is about to bite the bullet?? at this point I am ready to switch to something else, I just like the fact that I am not under any type of contract..
Any help you guys could provide is appreciated.... |

I am on an HN9000 and have never had one last more than 3 years. Recently one was replaced at HN insistence because my "old" modem didn't have the most up-to-date programming. Maybe it's time to replace yours for a similar issue...or it has become defective in some other way. Hopefully, you have other options for an ISP at this point...good luck. |

Ok.. Update.. I also posted over on the hughes net customer forum and one of the "employees" said she located critical errors on my system.. after giving no account details at all.. I thought this is fishy (and still do) and called her/him out on it.. they said that they were able to find me by my name.. (I still call BULLS***!!)..
Well in the meantime I go to the local wally world and buy a little fan because I think the modem is overheating.. My resetting problem stops and everything looks good.. Now the turbo page is staying down.. and I have had problems with my router just hanging up more than in the past year in the last week..
Needless to say.. Exede is really looking tempting at the moment... |

Another HN9000 user here...
Same problem with turbo page yesterday started about 7:30 pm. This cleared up about 10 pm but because of previous intermittent problems with turbo page I made the dreaded call to tech support.
This is were it gets strange... No reboot, try this, try that or anything of that nature, just a response from the tech saying that the modem seems to be working now (which it was) but there is a problem in the modem and they will replace it. The tech set up the replacement modem at no cost with free 24hr shipping, free return postage of old unit and a follow-up email within a half hour with instructions for replacement and return.
The modem is still working this morning and am awaiting the new modem. This is the first pleasurable experience (did I really say that) that I've had with tech support and it was great.
Now, being a conspiracy theorist, my mind is running wild with possibilities. .............................................................. Update => Hughes has no replacement modems, doesn't know when they will get replacement modems and doesn't know if they will get replacement modems.
If you're a HN9000 user then your days are numbered - make plans now! |
