I'll get it tomorrow. I just shut down the laptop. Thanks! |

So this is interesting. It was identified as several things, Application.Win32.InstalleRex.KG, TROJ_GEN.F47V0530, Downware.TSU, Trojan.Win32.S.StartPage.26800520. Looking these up does not give a clear indication as to what it is exactly. My concern is that there may be a backdoor open by keeping it. |

post a link to the scan report. If you are not directly on the internet, ie behind a router, it's unlikely that this open backdoor will do anything. |

McAfee didn't find any problems with the downloaded file. |

Here's the link. » www.virustotal.com/en/fi ··· 1577602/That's what I thought, so it would only pose a problem when I take my laptop to my daughter's for instance. That's when I would most likely to use the app. |

I wouldn't use McAffee, but that's a conversation for a different thread. |

Looks to me to be a false positive, the higher rated AV's like Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Symantec, show it as clean. Installers can get false flagged from some AV's from time to time. If one of the better AV's flagged it I would be a little concerned, but none of them did. |

To be safe (and accurate), it wouldn't be the first time an AV like Symantec missed the problem entirely. Historically, I have personally seen Symantec specifically either register false positives, or fail to find an infection at all. They are also the one who quite recently stated in a press release that testing for viruses was a dead issue. Can't say they've given me much to trust. |
