Hello I would like to switch to Acanac, mostly for Zazeen, as I'm tired of Bell sat... I am currently on TekSavvy 25/10 profile with my own Sagemcom 2864. Could I keep this modem without having to buy a new one if I switch to Acanac ?
I had the same question and this is the answer I got from Melvin from Acanac. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quebec customers who sign up for our cable internet service can not use their own modem unless it was issued by Acanac on a previous account. The reason being is that we are required-by the carrier in your area-to submit a list of modems that we will be issuing to our customers before we even set up a customer with our service.
The modem's information is to be submitted before an account is created on our end and the list must be a minimum of one hundred. Unfortunately we have already submitted our list there for you will have to wait until we submit another list; which will not be any time in the near future.
Also, it is important to note that we can not guarantee that the carrier will accept the modem you plan to use. They (being the carrier) can reject any modems they wish not to prevision.
With ELECTRONICBOX you can bring your own modem on Videotron network as long as it is on the approved modem list and that you have the right firmware installed. »Cable Modem QUEBEC FAQ
