'Reset the Net' on 5 June

I am surprised this has not been posted here yet. This is tomorrow (5 June).

I am not making any statements in support or opposition - just adding awareness of an effort to organize "taking back our privacy" that is underway called 'Reset the Net"

Sort of on the same track here... at least another tool to add to the list... google is testing "End to End" which is a plugin to make end to end email security easier to manage. It is still in testing mode and is available here:

»code.google.com/p/end-to-end/

Google release about it:
»googleonlinesecurity.blogspot.co···-to.html

Articles on it:

»boingboing.net/2014/06/04/google···-en.html

It bothers me that I can't "reset the net" without first giving my email address. And, in my opinion, Google is the antithesis of privacy.

What a load of corporate PR crap, if Google were any kind of serious, it wouldn't be blocking me from using its' service(s) while I try to be anonymous by way of TOR.

Maybe it should be "reset the 'net, so long as it doesn't interfere with our generating revenue from your browsing".

When visiting that site I first read:

Don't ask for your privacy. Take it back.

then noticed

so out of curiosity I checked Ghostery:

Are they for or against privacy?

This is why I didn't make any other comments about it. Their privacy policy is pretty short - and basically indicates they can and will use and share your email. None of this means that the intent is not genuine, however.

It is good that people are actually looking and doing a little research on their own - this is exactly what everyone needs to do on a regular basis. That is how we take back our own privacy.
