Bye-Bye Free Millenicom email

Dear XXXXXXXXX,

Due to the small and decreasing use of our email system as well as the
increasing costs required to maintain this service (and the excellent free
alternatives such as gmail available), Millenicom will soon discontinue
free email accounts for customers using our service.

We are sending this email to everyone who will be impacted by this policy
change.

Beginning August 1, 2014 we will cease all email service for our clients
except for those who submit the form accessed through the link at the
bottom of this email. Please submit the form before the end of this month
(June 30, 2014) in order to qualify for retaining your email account.

The monthly cost beginning August 1, 2014 will be $10/month per account.
Please note clients who have already prepaid for email service will have
those agreements honored until the end of their current prepayment.

Thank you for your understanding,

Millenicom Billing

With all the connection problem's Verizon is placing on people not just on Millenicom the end is coming for Verizon's mvno operation's.

I haven't had the mentioned connection issues affect me and considering Millenicom was able to negotiate services with Verizon as it did earlier in the year, its way too assumptive to think Millenicom is going belly-up as an MVNO for Verizon.

This doesn't impact outbound emails for those who use a desktop email client I take it.

@ggultra
Last month, thanks to Verizon throttling, I missed out on at least 5GB of data (my account showed me at a little over 11GB) that I paid for, if this trend continues I'll probably move to Verizon's 10GB plan. I don't enjoy paying for extra data that I'm prevented from using.

This effects anyone using Millenicom.com for their email. If your email address ends with xxxx@millenicom.com it effects you.

This sucked, changing your email address is as bad as losing your wallet. It is amazing how many people you need to notify!

not sure why you , or anyone else, does not use Gmail, Yahoo, or Microsoft's offering for email. It stays with you whatever ISP you have.

I have Yahoo, gmail (which I don't like) and Microsoft Outlook which I'm using. Faye has Win 7 which came with Windows Live Mail so we are set. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to web based email but I'll have to use it. The Millenicom email worked perfectly for us.

Then don't use web based email? I have a couple dozen email addresses and I use Thunderbird to keep tabs on all those inboxes.

Thunderbird is a free open source desktop email client.

I might give it a try. I think a desk top email client is better than web-based. Thanks
