Either this forum does not exist, or it is members only!

You posted in "feedback". Your subject line mentions "watercooler" and "pub".

Which of those three does "forum does not exist" refer to?

Maybe try a clearer message about the problem you are having.

If you don't see a certain forum, assuming that was your question that is, it usually means you don't qualify for admittance at this time. However, the error could mean another problem. Can you see the about button?

Re: Error on trying to post -- watercooler & pub

If you go to »/cap does it say you are at level zero? If so, that's probably why.

I see the same message the O.P. gets. If I click "Reply" on a thread in either the Pub or the Cooler, instead of getting the quick reply box, I get the message "Either this forum does not exist, or it is members only!"

The weird thing is the "About" link in both forums says it "is accessible only to premium members, or regular level 1 onward". I meet neither criteria -- I'm a "Standard" member at level zero -- so it seems odd it's letting me look at the forum at all.

To make a short story longer, if I go to »/postlist and click the "private forums" link it shows I have access to the private forums Red Room, Blue Room, and For Sale/Wanted. Sure enough I can read topics in any of them despite not meeting the entrance requirement. If I click "Reply" on a topic in one of the political rooms I get an alert "Sorry you are locked out of this forum for posting in the linked forum. About 45 days to go before lock-out expires." despite having never posted in either room.

Its another problem. The member leveling portion of the code appears to be broken at this time and members meeting the criteria to be able to post in certain forums cannot.

There is only 2 mentions, the ampersand signifies both. As is the error comes up for both, hope this clarifies.

Maybe try a clearer message about the problem you are having.

I was under the impression this was a common error. I will put in "Error I am getting" if from of the original post so people can help better.

Thanks,

Still nothing progressing and I would really enjoy replying in the social forums. Is there a direct contact for support? Where is the 'admin'

It's getting annoying, and I deserve to be able to post in those forums. Maybe an animated avatar as well

What was your issue? I see a number of forums I frequented that are now this way.

I m getting it as well. I am getting it on Canchat. It seems I hit the favourite forums button and one time I see new posts, and the next nothing, but still get

"Either this forum does not exist, or it is members only!"

when I try to go into the forum. When posts show I can view those, oddly.

It looks as if there's a major SNAFU today. Slow page loading, and locked out of forums.

I guess I'll take a pass on the site for a few hours, and see if it gets fixed by the time I try again.

***See the thread listed below*****

There is an ongoing thread on the issue that most seem to be having in the site help forum:
