Centurylink DSL Keeps Dropping on the PK5001Z?

I am receiving many error packets.
Hi, I am having many many problems with my internet connection, my ISP is Centurylink and I am using a PK5001Z as my modem. I have done many factory resets, but when I run diagnostic tests I get fails.

Most of the time the DNS Reslove, DNS #1,and DNS #2 FAIL. I have 12mbps internet and sometimes get 11 ish mpbs but most of the time I get 0.3 and 3.0 and 7.0 mbps. I am also receiving WAY too many Error Packets.
Thanks for all the help!

What's the current train time? 3000 CRCs may or may not be acceptable depending on the time period.

Your comment about DNS would have initially led me (and probably others) to suggest trying alternate DNS servers (e.g. 4.2.2.1/4.2.2.2, 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) but the speed test issues suggest other issues.

Could you explain what that is and I can get it to you.

Not exactly sure what it's called on the PK5001z but look for link uptime, trained time, etc. (all would be the same). Also look for retrain count. It should be on the same page as the screenshot you posted already.

In fact, just post the entire stat page with all the numbers, particularly error counts (since the ones you posted previously will be old).

PK5001z DSL stats page
The link time is in the section right above DSL power.

I would also look at Utilities (at the top) and Modem Log (on the left) which might give you a reason for re-trains since reboot, if that's what's happening.

The logs for what the modem interprets as a physical disconnect from the Internet, either due to extremely low SNR or a cable being unplugged, are as such:

06/07/2014 09:55:50 AM DSL WAN Physical Link Down
06/07/2014 09:56:21 AM DSL WAN Physical Link Up. Upstream 672 kbps Downstream 1536 kbps, DSL Type is ADSL_G.dmt
06/07/2014 09:56:27 AM NTP Time initialized by NTP server

Unfortunately it doesn't actually tell you which it thinks it was, or log the stats at the time of the disconnect or the retrain. (which would be neat and hopefully useful.)

Your SNR and other power stats look good, so it would honestly surprise me if there was a noise/signal related disconnect going on, unless it's only happening during the day, on weekdays, and what's actually happening is maintenance/buildout is happening to the lines up stream from you.

It was a bit stable earlier, it was up for about 5 hours, but now it keeps cutting out about every 2 minutes

You retrained at 2M/515K from 11M/895K so there is a line issue somewhere. Are you in a house or apartment? Do you know where the NID is? You would want to test it there to determine if this is an inside wire issue or CL's issue, and once you determine it's CL's issue you can call them out.

I have talked to century link and it's not the modem, I will call them and have them test the lines and see if they can replace them, thanks for the help everyone!

Did they walk you through testing at the NID? Unless they have, you haven't determined yet if it's an inside wiring issue (your responsibility, unless you have a wire maintenance plan but I'm not even sure if that covers DSL issues) or their issue.

If the NID is accessible, there's a possibility they may charge if they come out and determine the issue is on your end.
