| Verizon's next move They sure didn't wait very long. Last week they released their plans for Steeltown and like myself and a few others said here Verizon is releasing this product in their secondary markets first so hey can tweak it until it runs properly and then the big unveiling in New York and points elsewhere. They should do us a favor and wait until a technology is working well enough before releasing it. They went nuts with dsl and that was a disaster. I will never buy any sort of internet product from Verizon. They are a terrible company. I was jerked around by them for a long time and here now this isn't ready and it's being brought to market. Last week in the NYTimes was a piece about this already being sold in New York and not by Verizon. I think they're freaked that they are going to be left behind so instead of being the master of something they will offer bad service of all types of broadband access.. The author stated how he walks around the city with his lap top and has free internet. No one has blocks on their service. Verizon will have a field day charging parents roaming charges when their kids start using this. |
