Re: So have they signed an agreement or not?To keep with the conspiracy theory that the ISPs are holding poor little NetFlix hostage for the hoards of cash the transit deal is going to bring them...
Why would Verizon drag their feet when they likely don't get paid fully until a certain SLA level is reached? |

Maybe they'd rather see Netflix "go away" than collect money from them. |

Nice theory, but that's just not how corporations work. If they wanted to do as you suggest they would have most likely offered a transit deal for NetFlix's in-house CDN that NetFlix would be unwilling to accept (i.e. jack up the price astronomically). |

It's not impossible for a large organization to appear schizophrenic. There are many pressures here and legal might not be in step with operations who might not be in step with leadership, etc. |

Or maybe it really does take time to engineer and implement interconnections between networks. |

Really? Can you provide examples of other major telcos that will engineer and implement interconnections in a fraction of the time? What's the typical time for other telcos? |

TWC (even though not a telco) it can take up to 8weeks and that is even co-locating in the same data center where they have a POP. There is a whole process that needs to be done. |

So, do you have shining examples of telco efficiency? |
|
|
Unfortunately I would have to agree with you on this one.
That would be like trying to find the shining examples of TWC or Comcast having great customer service.
I really think it would be easier to track down big foot or the Lochness Monster. |
