Believe it or not, the bandwidth is the cheapest part of the service. $30/mo doesn't cover the cost to maintain the copper plant and labor which is why they don't compete with DSL any longer. Quite frankly that's why DSL is so high so even though Charter isn't exactly cheap, it is certainly a better value than the alternative, and cheaper than many competitors in other markets.
Be glad you can get 60Mbps for $55 (or now 100 if in the STL market). |
