[DSL] Will AT&T U-verse DSL modem work?I am currently using AT&T U-verse and ready to switch to DSL Extreme. Is there anybody know that the AT&T's DSL modom would work? Thank you. |

It would probably help if you posted what model modem you have from AT&T. |

The most common U-verse modem we see is the 2Wire 2701 HGV-B, which unfortunately does not work. |

AT&T U-verse Internet may be ADSL2+, or may be VDSL. However, it is always PTM, and uses 802.1x authentication, instead of PPPoE. Those modems will not work over ADSL/ADSL2+ with ATM. |

Thanks for all the replies.
The modem is Motorola NVG510.
I have called DSL Extreme Customer Service and been told that DSL Extreme's DSL service cannot be provided on top of AT&T's U-verse; I have to cancel current service and have AT&T revert back to copper wired POTS service, then DSL Extreme can provide its DSL service. I don't know if it is possible to have AT&T do that. Looks like I won't be able to use DSL Extreme's service. |
