[Voip.ms] FreePBX Capabilitieshey all i've setting up freepbx on a new computer with an i3 processor, 4gb ram, 500gb hard drive. i've successfully setup chan_dongle to work with a 3g usb dongle and have extensions make and receive calls through this trunk.
i plan on expanding this out to 100 extensions slowly slowly and see how the computer and dongle goes. will most likely add several more to get more trunks.
have a few questions: 1. about 60 of the extensions will be connecting through a fiber optic network. so it would be: handset > ethernet > router with fiber optic port > fiber optic cable. this setup would be repeated at the different locations. when it arrives at freepbx it would also be: fiber optic cable > received into a switch with fiber optic port > ethernet > freepbx pc. will this work?
2. the amount of calls would vary as well as their duration (please share a technique if you have one to try and calculate this). would the computer, freepbx and the network have the capabilities to handle the whole operation? |
