VOIP phone messages

Does anyone know why a VOIP system would continue to send voice messages which are 20 minutes in length and when you try to listen to it there is nothing there; the call is being received from another one of our office location using VOIP. This happens weekly, at least 1-3 calls in the operators voice mail.

Is this a PBX? If it is, you can limit the minutes of a voicemail message as well as setting the silence duration.

What do you mean by "send voice messages which are 20 minutes in length". What messages is it sending and why? Don't need a specific answer since NOMB, just in general. Also what kind of VOIP system is it?

It would appear the OP is describing a recorded message length of 20 minutes with 'dead air' (no message).
