[complaint] We don't need to see the "join date" every time somebody posts

It's cluttery. Don't need it there, in the left column, next to each posting.

I agree with Mackey, I like seeing it, I'd also like to see the total number of posts a person has. These 2 pieces of information help determine how valid the person's information is in a lot of cases.

How is it clutter? The name and Avatar are there anyways.

I value that information.

As the first reply suggests, you can turn if off for yourself with the "I see people" feature, though that might require premium membership.

Re: [complaint] We don't need to see the "join date" every time somebody posts

I don't see the join date for a simple reason. It is not shown in USA format. For me, it is extremely irritating to see it in other nation's format but not mine so I choose to not see it at all.

OP, you just need to set I See People as you want it and then you won't see what irritates you in the author column. Just click on dandelion See Profile post and follow the instructions.

It's ISO 8601 international standard date format:

So? It's not the standard for the USA. This just proves again how weak and pathetic this one mighty, greatest nation on the face of the earth has become.

Using an international standard date format (frequently used in the USA) on a site that brings users in from multiple countries makes the USA weak and pathetic? A rather myopic view from someone who praises other countries' standards rather frequently.

Someone may have donated premium status as a way of solving the problem. Or he may have purchased it.

I disagree with the the idea of removing the join date. I like the join date. It gives a small indication as to how familiar a poster is with the website.

I agree. I'm surprised the number of posts isn't shown, as it's far more informative than join date. This is a common feature of virtually every off-the-shelf forum software package.

I'm seeing that your number of posts is 818.

Maybe that isn't the default. It is obviously part of my "I see people" setting. But I think you may need to be a premium member to be able to change "I see people".

Are you only seeing this on the user profile page? I'm talking about showing it in the left-hand column, beneath the user name. Like most every other piece of forums software does.

I'm seeing it in the left column - similar to what fourboxers See Profile just posted, though not identical.

You need to configure your "I see people" setting.
