Netflix pays a licensing fee for all it's content, so the only way Netflix would be going is if people stopped using it's services.
All Aereo did as have an antenna and DVR that recorded broadcast signals. Then for a fee, allowed users to have access to that.
How is that any different then me burning a DVD of a recording on my DVR. Then bringing it to work and giving it to a vo-work. In exchange the co-work pays me a few bucks for my time and effort?
I recall co-workers back in the day of VCRs exchanging recordings of TV shows.
All Aereo did was simplify the process a tad. So now the networks won and more people return to piracy. |

A new law will soon be passed, permitting jail of any that pirates software, music, program etc. It will no longer be civil fine but criminal. That should quickly stop pirating. |

Not to mention these few paid peering arrangements were to alleviate congestion experienced by end-users, because their paid ISP allowed significant congestion to occur on their network. Meanwhile Netflix peers settlement-free with dozens of networks around the globe, both bilateral and multilateral. |

Netflix signs content deals with movie studios and television producers to legally redistribute content, so they paid for the content. The content is also often years old, which is what keeps it affordable. Aereo just put a workaround in place to distribute a near-live signal that they didn't pay for, and the SCOTUS is right to rule the way they did. But Netflix is a whole different business model, and they DO pay their copyright owners fees to re-distribute. |

Yes, they signed a peering agreement with Comcast. That is not illegal under current law, and SCOTUS will currently HAVE to side with Comcast, as no laws were broken. A whole different scenario then the AEREO scenario. |

The supreme court claimed that even thought Aereo just leased equipment they LOOKED like a cable company so they must be one. That is the stupidest flawed ruling ever showing the supreme court justices did not even understand the issues of the argument. Technically the ruling does not prevent anyone else from leasing equipment with a long cord as the surpreme court did not rule on that fact.So now Aereo has to be recreated under a brand new company that will lease equipment with a long cord. |

AERO is gone and anything like it will not return. Now people will have to get cable if they want to see what AERO was showing.
edit:Technically if AERO was showing delay showing, it might not been illegal. At least how I read the rulling. |

I don't see why they would. Does Google, Hulu, Vimeo, Yahoo and ANY other content provider pay tolls ? The customer is already paying for their access to the Internet, and they're paying for Netflix to deliver to the Internet. |
