Getting horrendous ping spikesHi, This issue has been occurring for a long while now, though this is the first time I've posted about it here. My connection seems to be very inconsistent. My ping while gaming, for example, will spike by a few hundred ms every few seconds, often to over 1000 ms.
My transceiver statistics look rather disheartening. Verizon support hasn't done anything besides recommending restarting the router and "clearing some external congestion."
Transceiver Statistics Transceiver Revision A2pB020b3.d20h Vendor ID Code 4D54 Line Mode ADSL_G.dmt Data Path INTERLEAVED
Transceiver Information Down Stream Path Up Stream Path DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec) 6208 704 Margin (dB) 6.6 9.0 Line Attenuation (dB) 51.0 31.5 Transmit Power (dBm) 19.7 11.9
I'd greatly appreciate your help! |

I'm no expert but those stats look pretty horrific, especially your SNR. Also your speeds don't seem to be at the proper sync either.
Did you try plugging the modem into the test jack on your NID? |

Your line should be dropped to 5Mbps as it is, and from there you may want to consider checking your Transceiver statistics again from your NID. Your intermittent pauses could be anything; momentary lapses in time where your signal is too bad to carry data, or it could be something like congestion. |
