Core network outage?

This doesn't look right:

Tracing route to engadget.com [207.200.74.38]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1
  2 26 ms 34 ms 37 ms lo-100.lns02.tor.packetflow.ca [206.248.154.122]
  3 * * * Request timed out.
  4 * * * Request timed out.
  5 * * * Request timed out.

Some sites are working right now, some aren't. DSLR is fine, Reddit and Youtube not so much.

Yep, stuff somewhere is broken.

Mostly seems incredibly slow though.

Same here. I'm in Montreal. VDSL.

Youtube, Twitch, even Google Search seems slow. But others like, Yahoo and DSLr are fast. Perplexed :O

Looks like some links are working. Anything through TorIX is working, Cogent seems to be up. I can't tell what's down since it times out before it gets there.

EDIT: Tracerouteing from outside, looks like Hurricaine Electric was down.

Guess you guys didnt get the email?

"We’re writing to let you know that we’ll be performing some maintenance to the TekSavvy network this Thursday morning (July 3rd, 2014) between the hours of 3am and 5am. You may experience slowed speeds during this time."

Yeah, stuff appears to be going up and down.

I don't seem to have that email though, which is odd cause I normally get them. Oh well, nice to know its not just me (I thought it might be something to do with the speed upgrade order I just put in at first.)

For the curious, we upgraded the "switch control boards" in our core routers so that they support more Gbps per slot. We had to shutdown one router at a time. It's quite possible some routes weren't reachable during the maintenance.
