[Modem/Router] Need help accessing admin page of DPC-3825I need help with accessing the admin page of Rogers' Cisco DPC-3825 modem-router combo.
My friend's HP Photosmart 5510 wireless printer shows on the front panel that it is connected wirelessly to DPC-3825, and has an IP address of 192.168.0.12. However, my friend cannot print wirelessly. This printer does print when connected to the PC via a USB cable.
Since my intention is to give the printer a static IP or Pre-assigned DHCP IP address so that the wireless connection is more stable, I have the following temporary set up for reaching the admin page:
Wall > Coaxial cable > DPC-3825
One end of CAT5 cable to a LAN port of DPC-3825
The other end to friend's PC. Both modem-router unit and PC have power on.
Temporarily change Properties of IPv4 connection from Automatically connected to IP =192.168.0.10 , DNS = 192.168.0.1
When I try to get into the admin page of DPC-3825 by typing the default IP 192.168.0.1 of the unit into the browser, I cannot reach this page at all even though there's Internet access, e.g. Google home page.
I would appreciate your suggestions. |

Figure out what the PC's internal IP address is (as assigned by the router).
If the IP is 192.168.X.Y, the router is 192.168.X.1 (in all likelihood)
N.B. On a PC you should be able to find this by typing 'ipconfig' at a command prompt; on a Mac it will be displayed in your network preferences. |
