Re: [Internet] What is the latest Sagemcom Firmware?

Thats the issue, Sagemcoms don't have a true bridge mode, they have a PPPoE passthru mode, which unfortunately does not cure the Sync no Surf & reboot issues even if you don't use it as your main router.

Well I'm glad I kept putting getting a router aside then, now knowing it wouldn't have fixed it. I thought I read that somewhere but it seems that was wrong.

I guess my options are pretty limited then. Unless I switch to a new ISP like Teksavvy.

Well, torrents always brought it to its knees fairly quickly... That was always a good torture test for the Sagemcom.

Ah... and here I was thinking Google Hangouts was a decent test.

In this case it's up to four participants, two in NYC, one in PA and me up here in the "Frozen North" and the NYC site pumps the resulting audio out over the 'net.

What is the number of the new firmware you just got last night?

Firmware Version: FAST2864_v68446
Rescue Version: FAST2864_v78446

I just got upgraded to this and am testing it and....sadly I can have my Sagemcom spontanenously reboot after 5-10 minutes of torrenting the CentOS7 iso.

and,

in bridge mode it caps out at 31Mbps.

I guess this modem is likely only good as a backup modem should my SmartRG ever die, so I can go online and order a new SmartRG...

My modem also reboots if put under a small amount of load again. Previously they downgraded me to a different firmware version that didn't crap out, but now with this upgrade again it does. UGHHHH.

Both of you are experiencing this with the latest FAST2864_v68446 firmware?

yes I have the 68446 firwmare. either in bridge mode or in routed mode, if I click to download Centos7 torrent, I can download for about 5 minutes before the modem reboots. connection stops, modem keeps pinging for about 30 seconds, and then it reboots and re-syncs.

SUPER-annonying.

That sucks... I tested mine only on ADSL2+ 16meg so far, i was downloading ubuntu torrents (10 of them) for well over an hour without any issues...

But I havent tested on VDSL yet at home on 50/10. Havent had the time to try it yet.

do you think it's a hardware hit or miss issue, or is it purely software?

Updates are pushed out automatically, you can try rebooting to see if it'll request the update when it boots up.
