Up until a week or two ago, I had no problem getting decent download speeds (1 to 3 MB/sec) from Debian repository mirrors. But since then they have been awful. This morning, I tried three different ones, never getting over 400 kB/sec with any of them. I finished my updates using http.debian.net and got an average download speed of 222 kB/sec for 44.9 MB of data.
I have tried several results of "the fastest mirror for my location" as identified by netselect-apt. They are all about the same.
So, certain that the problem must be my connection or system setup, I test a random download of a 50 MB file. It came at 5 point something MB/sec.
What is wrong with the Debian mirrors?
