[Config] Upgrading AP

Good day,

actually, I have a Cisco AP 1240AG serie. (1242)

I will be receiving a 1131AG to replace it.

Can I only backup the config of the 1240 and restore it in the 1131 ?

Thanks

Short answer : Yes.

Long answer : most of the config should go over UNLESS there are platform / config-specific items that don't transplant well from
a 1242 to a 1131 AP.

As I don't own either model, and we don't have your 1242 config, I can't say which parts would (not) do this.

I agree with Hellfire. Subject to "platform" differences it should be a simple copy and paste. I'd do a few lines at a time so if any aren't right you'll know without having to go trawling back through a load of config to find the bad line.

...forgot to add... is either AP the lightweight model (AIR-LAPxx) or the autonomous (AIR-APxx) ?
If the lightweight, the config / management is done from the wireless controller; there's no actual config to pull off the AP.

Thanks!

It was autonomous.

I was able to backup and restore the config. All worked
