Excellent. But, if you happen to get an atmospheric disturbance of significant intensity between your antenna and the satellite, you will get macro-blocking and picture freezes. A friend has DirecTV and this happens about once a week during summer storm season in the central area of the State of Georgia with thunderstorm conditions. It will last for anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. Dish Network does almost as well as DirecTV based on visits to coworkers homes that have Dish Network. Cox cable can have strange macro-blocking even during good weather. When it rains or thunderstorms you can get outages similar to DirecTV or Dish Network. This is due to the fact that many of the cable channels are actually collected by satellite antennas located at the local Cox cable facility. Even with the very large satellite antennas located at Cox, they can have a loss of signal during really bad large thunderstorms. |
