Qwest uses PPPoA (PPP over ATM) and the DSL800E doesn't support that. <description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/318885"><b>Torinalth</b></A> : aight same as my surfboard for the most part.  change nic, delete all setttings, just make it to it obtains automatically.  get rid of XP gateway or whatever, dont know what it is, but if 2k does not need it then neither does XP.  go then to IE and go to tools/ internet options/ connections/edit or setup.  create one over lan, no proxy settings at all!, there should be no checks on the proxy page.  but make sure it knows yer over a lan.  and you should be good.<br><br>Torinalth<br><small>--<br>If at first you dont succede try again, if at second you dont succede then get an axe</small>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/318885"><b>Torinalth</b></A> : why are you using an XP software bridge though?  shouldnt need it at all.  does your modem have a built in NAT?  or a built in sharing setup?  if it is just a base modem then you should change your NIC to obtain IP automatically. <description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/609823"><b>looch2</b></A> : I purchased a Best Data, (800E), DSL modem for my Qwest.net DSL account I set up a month ago.  I did not want to pay $275 for the CISCO 678.<br><br>I'm using Windows XP.  I believe I have everything set and configured right on the modem, (if anyine knows for sure how to set it up, I'd appreciate your insight).<br><br>In any case, I set up a "Network Bridge in XP" and a broadband connection in Internet Explorer.  I cannot for the lif of me get this thing to connect!  The lights flash, but it always fails to connect.  I have verified my user ID and password with Qwest.  They will not help beyond this since I do not have a CISCO 678...  FYI... I am not using the Qwest/MSN deal....<br><br>Please help!!!]]></description>
