Appears to have been released.

If you use the internal updater, beware pre-checked toobar offers.

Your link looks fine for Java 7 update. Thanks.

So, I tried again with the other links at Oracle that claim they are to Java 7 update and ALL take me to Java 8 update instead! Weird.

Q: I recently read on the Internet that Oracle’s upcoming security update for JDK 7 will not work on Windows XP. Is this correct?

A: No. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.
quote:
Q: What happens after the End of Public Updates for JDK 7?

A: We will continue monitor the uptake of Java 7 updates on Windows XP. If usage remains high when we get close to that milestone, we will take measures to keep Java users safe. There are several options available to us if that becomes necessary.
Windows XP users fret not!

I just updated the Windows 8 computer for Java 7 with no problems. I then tried to do a NDT Web100 speed test to Rochester Institute of Technology in New York only to have the Windows Firewall BLOCK Java! I had to tell it to let Java through. Something changed in this update to trigger the Windows Firewall blocking it when it had not done this with prior updates. The firewall notified me via a popup, however, sometimes a popup like this doesn't happen. So, check your firewall settings if you have any problems after this update.

I did the update yesterday (7.65) for Windows*Vista)...today I go to pogo.com(on Firefox - latest version)...get the error re java not enabled...went through all the procedures they require for downloading it, even rebooted, went to the pogo Forums(java, flash problems)...many members are having the same problem with this update...which is current on both IE7 & FF.
Any suggestions?
btw, of the 18hrs I spend on my computer...12+hrs are spent on pogo !

Per a suggestion by a member at pogo...she did the update for 8.11 and it worked for her...which I also tried and after trial&error, it worked for me. BUT, it didn't work for the website freeslots.com...after much 'blue air' at my puter desk, I decided to transfer that website to FF...and it works there...go figure !

Did anybody else notice this little gem for both 7 & 8:
New Java Control Panel Option to Disable Sponsors
Prior to this release, to disable sponsor offers at the time of installation, the user can de-select the option during installation or can pass SPONSORS=0 as a commandline option. In this release, a new Java Control Panel (JCP) option to disable sponsors is available. To use this option, go to the JCP Advanced tab, and check or uncheck Suppress sponsor offers when updating Java. This option is applicable to 32- and 64-bit Windows operating systems.

Wierd. I updated to 7 u65 from within Java control panel and still shows 7u60 in the Windows Programs and Features lists even after reboot. Why is this????

When updating from the Java control panel I thought it would overwrite or install on top of the previous version.
