[Speed] Can someone please post all the speeds available on Comcast?

I currently have 105, but I have no clue what that means other then it is faster then 50. Can someone please list all the different speeds they offer and how it is written down so I know how to converse with somebody.

Forgive me, I am turning into my father.

Though that FAQs page needs an update to show the latest doubled and new rates in many areas now (Blast! 105 Mbps, Extreme 150, etc.).

Here in Atlanta, the "Performance" is 25 down/5 up and costs $54.95 per month IF you also have cable TV service at the same location. Internet-only would e $67.95, I believe. I get the "Limited Basic" TV via my apartment, so I qualify for the $54.95/month price, thankfully.

It's going to vary in some areas too, as far as I know Santa Cruz County is still at 36/6 for Blast!.

Funny how 50 megs has access to OVER a million wifi hotspots, but their 105 only can access a million.

The upstream speed is always the factor that seems to get confused as of recently with the speed upgrade.

I assume as long as you have access to XfinityWiFi, you have the same amount of hotspots as someone else on a different tier.

What is a good internet speed for home use with no streaming or downloading?

I have 3 laptops that use the internet, two of which are WIFI.

I currently have Blast 105, but I am thinking that is too much. If I dropped to Blast 50, would my Wireless speed also drop?

Thanks
Pat

probably yes, if you droptted to 50 then everything on your network going to/from the internet would be limited to ~57mbps, wireless or wired. that said, if you're not already getting more than that over your wireless devices now, then you shouldn't see a change.

I'm getting 58 Mbps/12 MbPs Wireless with Blast 105. Not sure if that is good or bad. But would i do much worse if I dropped to Blast 50?

not good if you're actually paying for 105. that actually sounds like Blast 50 speeds.... they usually max out at around 57-58/11-12. Perhaps your account isn't provisioned correctly with the right speeds you're paying for...

Do you get the same speeds if you test on a device hardwired with ethernet, into your router? And do you get the same speeds testing straight into your modem?

With Ethernet, it's usually 60 to 90 Mbps.

Should i expect the same wireless speed as with Ethernet?
Thank you!

The cable is coming from my PC into the laptop on my desk in the living room.

I have 105 and at home on my wired PC I get 120MBPS down and 25MBPS up. On wifi I get around 60-70 MBPS and 25MBPS up of course that depends on where I am in the house. Make sure your wireless router and the device you are using supports 802.11N and 5.2 ghz frequency
