Picked one up today, glad to have it.
Only quibble: is there anything that can be done about the obnoxiously large and bright time display, other than turning it off? |

The Cisco 8742 is like this as well. The master bedroom box sometimes keeps me up at night and I turn it off, but at the same time I like having the clock on the box |

I was watching a recording and plays back my recording at 15, 30, 45, & 59 intervals. Do I need to reboot the box to fix this? It was working earlier in the day just fine. |

I was watching a recording and then it jumped to the 15 minute mark, then 30, then 45, and then the 59 mark. I try to restart the recording from the beginning and it jumps immediately to the 15 min. mark. Is it possible that some weird button combination caused this? It shouldn't be the equipment since it's new. |

That happens when you press and hold the fast forward button on the remote. Nothing was resting on the remote, right? ... or make sure the button isn't sticking. |

Is there any word yet on when the 6 Tuner DVR will be available for the Central Florida region, or a best guess on when this might happen? Is the Tampa region the only place that has them now?
Thanks! |

I noticed that my shows are ahead compared to the standard DVR. The time on the box is even ahead of Baynews9 time. As a result, the previous show starts the recording for a few seconds and are cut off a bit at the end. Is there a reason for this small time difference (hate to extend my recording an additional minute)?
As a side note, I have made sure that live button has been pressed. |

Only thing I hate is the front display is really bright and the text on the guide font is big like I am blind.
I just got it today so I can't say much more. It is black and half the size of a standard HD DVR made by ARRIS. |

I agree on the front display, it's way too large although I'm getting used to it. On the guide text and menus, it sounds like you've got it set on Standard 4x3 instead of High 16x9, which you can fix under Settings > High Definition > Menu. With the HD setting on the guide and menus, it really does look clean and elegant. |

So we just had a brief power outage, and now I can't seem to get the 6-tuner DVR to reboot properly. The display on the box was similar to the previous DVR (BOOT, OCAP, etc.) and then got to L-8 "Your TV will be right with you". After about 7-8 minutes, L-8 changed to E-8 and under the "Your TV" message is "Initialization", where it's been stuck for several minutes.
Is the box toast or does it normally take about 30 minutes + to reboot?
UPDATE: Now it just started the boot sequence again.
SECOND UPDATE: It finally came back on the third boot cycle, after about 30 minutes in total. |

Can someone post a picture of the box? And maybe the specific manufacturer and model number?
Thanks. |
