Re: Symmetrical Speeds

So, looks like the upload took effect, but I still lost my download fluff?

I lost my download fluff, too. I was getting 58/38 right before the upgrade.

Are you on BPON/GPON? Or maybe the better question... What model ONT do you have? Do you have the option for 75Mbps on the VZ site? what about 150 and above?

Also, what kind of a bundle are you on?

I'm on BPON (Tellabs 612). I see all of the options up to 500/500.

I have the Preferred HD Triple Play with 50/25 (now upgraded to 50/50).

Odd. I'm on double play with Select. Maybe Verizon is still punishing Pennsylvania, haha. Brings back memories: »Picture Perfect Deal [33] comments

I going to guess you have a provisioning error or cross connect issue. Only thought is to pull the battery and power from the ONT and do a hard reset

I'm on a Gpon Ont ... so that might have something to do with it ..

I'm thinking thats the case. The things that chewypgh and I have in common are: Pennsylvania, and BPON ONT.

I'm on the Motorola 1000M3 ONT. I don't even have the option to order 75Mbps when I go to the Verizon site, but I can however go order 150/300/500 (requiring a truck roll of course...)

same here, so much for the symmetrical connection but I suppose if you want to be a bit torrent hero this is for you. so far the trend seems to be anyone with 50/25 is capped @ 50 upload and VZ over provisioned the upload. Those with 75 tiers and got the fluff. I would have rather had my numbers reversed but it is what it is... I probably should have left if alone, LOL. previously we were getting 58/38 as well.

You are not alone, lost 9 Mbps download fluff. I'd rather have the old 58 Mbps. And not only that, they increased my monthly by $20. It's suppose to be free.

I hope Verizon rectify this 50/50 service. As it is now, the download speed is less than the advertised speed of 50Mbps.

I’m 3rd customer with the same result from the 50/25 tier upgrade. Like I said would have preferred to keep it at 58/38 if I knew they would drop the D/L but at the end of the day not going to matter much to us and I doubt if they change it back. They should have tacked on the "fluff" on the D/L side but could be VZ’s way of cutting back and a PR move at the same time.
