WNDR3500v3 ProblemsMy Netgear WNDR3500v3 has been the worst router I've ever owned. Not only is there a persistent certificate error when I try to remotely manage it, but about half the time I have to power cycle the router before I can even log into it through the LAN.
Yesterday I discovered that if I hard-coded the DNS on my wife's wireless laptop, it's surfing speed increases dramatically. Therefore, there must be a problem with the router handling DNS.
With Netgear demanding that I pay $40 for a service call to get a warranty replacement, I question whether there are any options other than pitching it. Am I overlooking anything about the operating of this router? I've been a Netgear die-hard for many years, but this Netgear router is my last.
It has the latest firmware, according to the built-in update utility. |
