[OOL] Modem Swap?Good Evening,
I currently have the following cable modem:
Model Name: SBV6220 Vendor Name: Motorola Firmware Name: SBV6X2X-1.0.3.2-SCM-04-SHPC Boot Version: PSPU-Boot(BBU) 1.0.7.13m1 Hardware Version: 2.0 Firmware Build Time: Oct 31 2013 15:13:55
I was under the impression from reading posts here that the Surfboards should have been swapped out long ago. Based on the information above, should I return this modem and get a more current model?
Thanks! |

If you have issues with slow download, definitely. The Arris modems get 8 downstream channels, while the Motorola only gets 4. If your speeds are fine, it's not worth the trip to the Optimum store. |

Any performance issues? How are your speeds? If no issues, no need.
But, I'm pretty practical about this stuff. |

Wired connection was getting 100 down 30+ up in January. Now I seem to be consistent at 65-70 down and 25-30 up. Looks like about a 30% reduction over last 6 months. Will probably swap out when I get a chance. |

Thanks. I figured that had to be the case, this one has been here for a while. |

The Cisco DPQ-3212C is also a good choice if offered to you (also offers 8 down/4 up channels like the Arris). |
