Just to clarify, you are a tech at Comcast but you dont know how to advance?
What tech level are you now? Have you asked your supervisor or HR rep how to advance?

Comcast has started to roll out a new leveling setup where techs at the 4 and 5 level have 3 subdivisions. One of the positions in the prementioned links ( tech 6) has been eliminated.

This just seems like an odd forum for a comcast employee to seek information about advancement within a company they work for. This being a customer supporting a customer forum.

Your supervisor should have all the details you need.

Which is almost 8 years old at this point. The first post in that thread was made on 10-06-2006 and the last post was made on 10-10-2006.

I would take a guess that a lot (maybe all of it) has changed over the years. As others have said, it would be best to talk to your direct supervisor or manager, as they should have all the details that you would need on this subject.

Log in to teamcomcast. Then click on your profile in the top right. Click around in there and you should be able to find your info. There is a big tree diagram you can click around to see your coworkers and the chain of command all the way up.

Also if you click around in ESS you can find all your info.

CT1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
Each level has 3 sub levels.
Each "progression" comes with a pay bump normally. You can progress every 6months if you hit your metrics.
Functional, Proficient, Advanced. IE CT4a = Comm Tech 4 Advanced.
You can jump levels but that screws you out of pay bumps. You don't want to skip ahead.

Its kinda weird that this isnt all explained to your by your supv.. it should be in your handbook that you had to sign off on.
