What speed are you getting? What speed do you think you are supposed to be receiving? Post some screen shots.
Have you tested with a direct Ethernet connection to the modem? |

You are being very vague. Please tell us what you have done so far, whether you are using wireless, what type of router, what brand, what modem, etc, etc.... |

Can you please post your signal levels you can find it at 192.168.100.1 so I can determine if it's your line signal problem or another problem. |

I also have ultimate but they "blocked" me too. I should be getting 300/20 now in my location but I'm blocked at 100/10. Totally my fault though because I upgraded my modem too early to the SB6141 back when the 300/20 was announced and it was presumed to be on the allowed list for the provision. Turns out I now need the SB6183. Just waiting for the retail release. Then I won't be "blocked"
What modem do you have? |

What modem do you have? You don't NEED the SB6183, if you lease a modem from TWC you can just get the modem they supply currently for the MAXX speeds. You can even just go with a leased modem for a few months until the SB6183 goes on sale. Doesn't seem to be anywhere closer to a retail release date, that modem. Also, many people still have routers with a 100 Mbps WAN port, and don't realize it. |

Motorola sb6183 is available in late August,2014 for all major retail stores in U.S. If you want to get twc ultimate 300 speed now, you have to rent Arris DG1670A from TWC, $5.99/month, plus tax.
make sure your pc has gigabyte network card, cat 5e or cat 6 Ethernet cable if you connect it by Ethernet cable.
if you are using wireless router, please make sure it has gigabyte wan port. |

The problem is theoretical and real word speed do not mach up. Your sb 6141 advertise that it can go up to 343 mbps. It depends how TWC put customer on nodes and build their network. For the 300mbps services the sb6183 isn't the only modem the netgear c6300 is also a option for 300/20 |

Exactly. There are many routers out there that have gigabit LAN, but the WAN port which connects to the Modem will often still be 10/100.
My Western Digital MyNet N900 has 8 gigabit ports, and a gigabit WAN port. I'm also using a second wired router as an access point and that's all gigabit also.
Also, many network cards have a feature enabled at default called "green Ethernet" or something similar that reduces your LAN speed from 1000 to 100 or even 10 when you're not running a lot of bandwidth, and sometimes that feature has been known to get stuck at a lower setting because it doesn't communicate the speed adjustment properly. i leave it off. |

LOL. My cell phone provider uses similar tactics when 30 days late paying the bill. They call with a recorded message saying you're going to be really sorry if you don't pay the bill today. 10 days until they cut your service is outrageous though. |

i just got off the phone with tier 4, the guy obviously didn't give a shit...he said it was because i own my own modem. horse shit. i'm an installation technician and i see the high speeds all of the time. he said it was because my firmware on the modem wasn't compatible. I don't believe that for a second..... |

I don't believe that for a second..... Tier 4? There is such a thing as tier 4? And yes, modems can be incompatible with newer, higher speeds. To get the maximum ultimate speeds you need at least a DOCSIS 3.0 modem with 8-channel bonding for speeds up to 100 Mbps, and you need one with 16-channel bonding for the 200 and 300 Mbps speeds. If you own your own modem, check to see if your modem is on this list: » www.timewarnercable.com/ ··· dems.pdfYou are a bit vague on your answers. You say you have your own modem, yet you don't say what brand/type you have. How do you expect us to help you without basic information like that? Please provide the following information: - What modem do you use? - What router do you use? - Are you testing your speeds on a wired, or wireless connection? - What is the advertised speed you are paying for? |
