If wireless offered more affordable options they could take landbroadband off the map as they have with landline. I guess cable should be thanking their lucky stars - for now.

Landline: can use at home. Cell: can use at home and elsewhere.
Cable: can use at home. Wireless: can use at home and elsewhere.

Wireless isn't even close to being a substitute. The naysayers won't don't know a lick about who mobile data works won't agree but there just isn't the capacity right now to offer even the 250 caps that wired offers.

Now if there wasn't so many carriers dividing up the spectrum and such the spectrum is all over the place just mished mashed together that would be a different story. Now sure if one company had the entire 600 MHz, 700 MHz and 800 MHz spectrum and used 200 MHz for download and 100 MHz for upload then sure they could offer unlimited data or at least have the same caps as cable. Guess what NEVER going to happen because we have to be all fair and socialism about the spectrum and make sure at least 4 companies split it evenly.

Would you really want only one wireless company if the FCC did not control the spectrum?

Keeping business fair promotes competition and competition is good for consumers and consumers matter more than share prices. Consumers matter more that wall street itself.
