Anyone using Rogers One Number?

While researching another topic, I found »www.rogers.com/web/conte ··· less_ron . At first glance, this single-number-reach solution is far superior to anything else available anywhere.

Used with multi-line IP phones, this could be nearly perfect integration of home (or small office) and mobile service.

Some have posted that they were unable to obtain SIP credentials »[Home Phone] Rogers One Number , though one user claims use with an ATA »Re: [Telephonie] Telephonie IP, qui choisir? . IMO finding the credentials should be pretty easy.

Even without SIP credentials, this is a pretty awesome service, because the mobile-number can sim-ring any Canadian DID, which in turn can ring your SIP device. For outgoing, you'd use any VoIP provider that lets you spoof the mobile's caller ID.

I'm aware of only one service that comes close -- GV/Sprint integration in the US. However, that service IMO has many disadvantages. For starters, when in the US, you're stuck with crappy Sprint coverage. Outside the US, the (CDMA) phone simply won't work in most countries, so you need a separate GSM phone, with all the associated problems (syncing contacts and other data, having to purchase apps twice, getting used to different UIs, etc.)

There are many trouble reports, but most threads are quite old. »www.howardforums.com/sho ··· er-thing
