[Connectivity] DSLReports.com currently unreachable from Comcast

I was unable to load the site when I got up this morning (started trying around 6am Eastern) But it isn't just my line, remoting in to client offices yields the same result from all Comcast lines in the area. Centurylink and Verizon wireless in the same area are working just fine, as is Grande in Texas.

Mod edit: Just took Indiana out of the title so we can redirect to this thread and close other topics created for the same problem. ~sorto'

There has been a rolling issue with LiquidWeb who hosts the site.

Same exact thing has happened on various ISP's - I had it on FIOS for 3 days, folks in the RCN forum have been posting about it as well.

Apparently LW hosed up their routing protocols - and it's been causing this problem for months now.

Unreachable from Bloomington, In. Other surfing sites seem fine. I used VyprVPN to Texas which used it's own DNS to reach here.
I tried the IP address and no luck
Strange...

I think it's an issue with Liquid Networks. Others not on Comcast (myself included) are having issues.

I can't get on the website from my AT&T connection. Using a browser addon anonymoX helped me get on the website.

Seeing this on CenturyLink/Qwest too. It's a LiquidWeb issue as I'm having the same issue with another of their customers.

OTOH, there may be a problem with Comcast's Ibone (or the Ibone connection to LiquidWeb) forcing LiquidWeb to use an alternate path.

At the moment I am accessing this site through Level3 as shown below:

Normally my path goes through Comcast's Ibone as shown here:

Even my U-verse connection normally uses the Comcast Ibone:

But right now, the U-verse connection also uses Level3:

Can not access at work through Comcast MetroE either. Have to use iPhone with wifi off to force over AT&T LTE to visit this site. Another alternative that works is if I tunnel over SSH to my home router which is on PTD.net. Trace looks great on PTD.net.

Same-o over Comcsast HSI in 94602. Earthlink dial-up got here, loaded the home page, then never did load the login page before I lost patience. Posting from Treo 755p FTW!

I am having the same problem here in Eustis, Florida North of Orlando. I changed to Open DNS, still no success. I can get through via CenturyLink DSL.

Changing DNS doesn't change the routing if the IP returned is always the same.

This may be due to a larger issue with some sites taking full route tables and not handling the Internet route table beyond 512K routes on their hardware. See

»supportforums.cisco.com/document ··· -effects
»www.cidr-report.org/as2.0/

I'm not aware of any Comcast routers impacted by this

I don't know if you replied to me by mistake but I'm wondering what you think about the more recently-reported potential issues with Liquid Web reported in this thread by telcodad and NetFixer.

Well, you're on AT&T's U-verse. Even though that report says AT&T is one of the ISPs affected, your part of it must not be then.

EDIT: OK, from »Cannot Access Website Through U-verse Connection , I see you were affected earlier today. I guess AT&T's routes have been fixed now.

Things may still be in a state of flux. Earlier today, both my Comcast and U-verse connections had changed from using Comcast's Ibone for a gateway to LiquidWeb, to using Level3. As of just a few minutes ago, both of the connections have now reverted to using the Comcast Ibone. However, I now see a Comcast Ibone hop that rDNS implies is from Los Angeles:

However, the transit times don't jive with a trip to LA; so that might imply that Comcast has replaced a router, but hasn't (yet) changed its rDNS to match the current location.

FWIW, a traceroute from when I couldn't get here without a proxy:

Now, that I don't need the proxy:

Does that signify different Liquid Web routers in use, now?
