I have an extra case that I would like to put 20 hard drives in. I would also like to have a dedicated power supply for this case the case will not have a motherboard it will only house drives and the power supply. So I need to be able to run the power supply without having to connect it to a motherboard. According to the link I can do the paper clip trick in order to get the power supply to run. So has anyone here done this and did you damage the power supply over time? I ask because this system would rarely be powered off.
If you want something that looks nice FrozenCPU makes a jumper. You could also splice the wire on the jumper to a switch so you could turn the HDDs off when the main computer is off. -- Reality doesn't bite, rather our perception of reality bites. - Anthony J. D'Angelo »www.chaoticconfused.com
