Don't know why you'd think you need new drivers for what is really just a "point" software update for win 8.*. Maybe, if/when win 9 comes out Intel will provide new drivers but should not be needed for Win 8 unless something gets broken.

Are you having problems getting it to run on the drivers you were using before you upgraded? They should still work.

And you tried reinstalling the drivers after the update?

Have you tried using the driver update utility for wired networking at the intel site and letting it reinstall any drivers it needs?

When you updated did it complain about compatibility with intel wired PROset for windows?

You mention this and you now have me curious.
I have an Intel onboard nic
I have an old D-link modem/router (DSL-504T) that since the update I can not log into.
DHCP from it was fine, then not, then fine then not.

I went and bought a new one.
The new modem/router is working fine but for some time when first initialized it would log into my ISP but not commit to allowing traffic.

Strange behavior since that update considering everything was fine before.
Was there an update to the tcp/ip stack or are Microsoft blacklisting old dis-continued modem/routers.

I thought it was me till I read this post.

I gave it a try and as yet there is not an update, at least via the syslabs tool they use for checking driver updates.

Mine is on board and may have something to do with it.

All I know is when updated, while the computers and modem routers were working fine, the moment hardware was swapped out, nothing I had worked again.
Even the hardware that was my network that I took off line that was working.
The moment the full network was refreshed, it feel to pieces.
The computer was not picking up anything correctly other than a belkin playmax wireless router.
Anything modem related went caputzki.

Still, hopefully all that hardware didn't just fail, but it can happen.
