hosts - any with REAL - "Webspace: unlimited"

are there any shared hosts that say "unlimited" and will let you go up to 1TB .. or so ..

I see they all "need" to say unlimited ..

I wonder if anyone has done an actual real life test?

»www.webhostinghub.com/web-hostin ··· res.html

here is issue I ran into:

so I have a shared hosting on 1and1.com - »www.1and1.com/linux-web-hosting? ··· #tariffs

and it says "Webspace: unlimited"

well I am getting

> we need to backup files .. but are getting: "Disk quota exceeded"
so I email them

and get a reply:

Thank you for contacting us.

Regarding your concern, we have actually checked on your account and it appears that you have already reached the maximum file quota on your account which is 262,144. Unfortunately, it is not possible to increase it since you have already reached the maximum file quota that is set for our shared hosting packages. We sincerely do apologize but this is a limitation in our shared hosting packages. You can actually switch to a server package if you want to be able to upload more files.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

If they're using words correctly, they're telling you that space is unlimited and file-count is limited.

1TB? Really?

You want Dedicated, not shared hosting.

How is dragging one folder on the FTP "hours of hard work"? Start copying, go about your business for the next 3 days.
And what in the world can you to with 1TB??? You realize that's some 1million+ photos at good quality???

Also, what they're selling is web site hosting. What the OP seems to want (based on the backup comments) is file storage.

Sure you can use a web site as file storage, but they're not exactly the same thing.
