I love these types of things and I"m pretty stoked about this. The chaotic positive energy of expansions are very energizing to me as a player. I've really enjoyed this expansion and found it very beautifully presented. But I can't wait for WoD and a little bit more darkness. For me, it feels like the end of BC again (another beautiful expansion)with the Lich expansion getting ready to drop.
Is anyone expecting anything new or exciting in this announcement?
My head tells me that it will be a very well presented visual of what we already know with little to no new information....but my heart tells me I'll get to be a Demon Hunter.
Interesting...developers are on....first thing they talked about is fresh start for 90's.....prior to assault on dark portal, only have a few spells on your bars and you learn more as you progress prior to going to Draenor. Specifically to address returning players so they aren't overwhelmed by all the spells, and players switching classes.
Also special tomes on Ashram which drop, and will give you special pvp abilities. (can't be used in arena)
Thinks like Levitate will enable you to fly around, cast spells, heals....Pally's judgements can send you to jail on the island. Developers talked about on Beta, they had RP'ers who called themselves the Jailers of Ashram, and they hung out in jails, waited for those to be ported there and inflicted punishment.
The whole island is trying to recreate and rewrite pvp. If you liked 5 day AV's, you'll love this island.
Chris is very excited about new animated series, which they hope will get players to understand and care about many of the characters they have never encountered before in Warcraft and understand the rich history.
Showing first episode of "Lords of War", Kargath Bladefist, and it's awesome.
For everyone? Will that be at 6.0 or on the relase of WoD?
It sounded like it was for everyone starting out.
I just watched it, and the way I understood that was only the "free 90" that you get for buying the expansion starts off with limited abilities. They compared it to Death Knights and the way they start off at lvl 58 but go through a quest line to get to know their abilities. The intent is so that people who are new to WoW can start off at lvl 90 and learn how to play without having to start as a lvl one in Goldshire.
He also said it will be useful for people like me who have been away from the game for a while. And, I think he is right, I was looking at how the abilities have changed and the classes have changed since the last time I really played and the learning curve is quite daunting.
