Got here after Googling to find solutions for an RV trying to make WiFi work . They are getting ripped off and campers are not getting WiFi . Now to figure out where to post these issues ? |

Probably in "wireless networking" but the real answer is to just bite the bullet and get something like a Verizon hot spot. That's what I use. I gave up on RV park wifi.
And I can't tell if you are trying to help the RVer or the camp ground. |

If the WiFi is free, don't expect the RV campground to spend a lot on their wireless technology. They don't make any return on it. |

I am one of the RVers , and do other work for them . They sent the last guy packing after at least 2 + yrs. and spotty WiFi at best . Now they paid $3,800 to Best Buy / Geek Squad after a site survey that said it needed 3-4 antenna locations , it was about 2-3 weeks after 1st call for the site survey happened . Then another 3-4 weeks before 1 guy came out with 1 antenna and he seemed to be starting from scratch , that was about 10 days ago , he said he would be back by Friday - last week to finish . Nothing heard since . I had a Clear hot spot that worked great , but something is wrong here for RF , no connection from my Clear device and lots of issues with my other RF , TV ect. One the ham side of things , most of the issues are propagation with this cycle . |

Well.....
I can see half the problem already. Utilizing Geek Squad to do a wireless deployment properly, just isn't going to happen. They're probably using some unknown cheap-ass solution to implement the WiFi hotspots.
You need someone who is experienced with higher grade gear such as Ubiquiti, in order to get that set up properly. The best part about Ubiquiti is that it is inexpensive and solid at the same time. I've played with a few of their NanoBeam and NanoStation products, and I am highly impressed with them. If Geek Squad is trying to deploy Canopy, dump them and go elsewhere. |

If you had a Clear hotspot, it was WiMax, and WiMax is finally being shut of as Sprint rolls out LTE. You need to replace this with a Sprint LTE device. |
