Confirmed, no response to ping, no VoIP, no website. From Twitter: We apologize for the inconvenience. Our engineers are actively investigating and we expect to have this resolved shortly. Now here's an interesting traceroute: Tracing route to www.callcentric.com [204.11.192.10]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms AsusRTN16 [192.168.1.1]
2 30 ms 31 ms 30 ms d209-89-208-1.abhsia.telus.net [209.89.208.1]

The dial-in numbers for their calling card are also down. The site was functioning within the last hour.

Interesting that despite having the highest domestic rates (2c/min for US and Canada - that's 2-4x more than most other VoIP providers) they seem to have the most problems. Or maybe people just watch them more closely |

Yesterday I got dead air when I called my home number from my work landline phone, but got through when I called it from my Page Plus cell phone.
My home number is with Callcentric and I'm running an Obi110. |

They have been rock solid for me since the Sandy issues were resolved. I thought they were going to move the website hosting so we wouldn't be in the dark if the registration went down again. I'm not sure what functionality exists right now but I can't even log in to change it anyway! |

Funny that when CC is down, this forum is the first place that I look before even checking their website. |

My home number is with Callcentric and I'm running an Obi110. I just now tried to call my home number again... got a "Your call did not go through ... please try again... 107T" I then called my Vestalink # from my work phone and got through with no trouble. |

said by Mango:Now here's an interesting traceroute: Not surprising. CC has their own AS and runs BGP. If connections to all their peers were severed, or if something went wrong with their BGP node(s), then the first default-free router you reach will have no route to them. |

I was running mtr earlier, saw a traceroute much like the one above (except with my local router and a ISP gateway), and literally watched the route come back to normal before my very eyes. I wish I could say the same about the SIP registration. |

Received a call on my cell that should have also rung my CC phone, so I checked and saw that the ATA was not registering (which it was not). Back up now. |

Posted 2:53 PM EDT on Twitter: Our engineers continue to closely monitor this issue. If your device lost registration, please perform a reboot to re-establish connectivity. I did have to do a reboot. |

Due to this downtime, I just found out that my Asterisk/FreePBX doesn't auto-retry registration. Is there a way to enable auto-retries for registrations in Asterisk 1.8?
My log files show "trying again" when the connection goes down, but doesn't when I get a "wrong password on authentication for REGISTER", which is what Callcentric threw with its server issues today.
After a quick Google, it looks like somebody has a cron job script that auto reloads Asterisk based on some log parsing. There has to be a better way, right? Any tips or workarounds? |

It appears to still be that way in Asterisk 11.11.0. An Asterisk restart or a system reboot is still required to get it going again. |
