Problems with ac68u

Hi I recently purchase a Asus ac68u to replace the Linkys ea6400. When it arrived to my house I hooked it up and I'm starting to have problem with the 5ghz AC. My ac card is a 2x2 intel 7260 ac. When I put my router into 5ghz N mode I can get 50 mbps from Time Warner Cable. On AC side I get 15mbps is there a fix for that. I'm running the latest firmware for the ac68u 3.0.0.4.376_1663 and running the latest driver for the 7260.

The latest firmware is 3.0.0.4.376_5656. You might want to download it direct from Asus' website and manually install it.

You could try the Merlin firmware and see if there is a difference.

Merlin is developed from the same source code that Asus uses.
It's one of the questions here: »github.com/RMerl/asuswrt ··· wiki/FAQ

Have you seen this thread on the AC7260?

Really you have to figure out if the problem is your Intel wireless card or the router. It's very possible the problem is with the Intel card and not the router.

I seen that 2 months ago when my wifi was dropping. Dell came to my house to replace many wifi card and motherboards. I used my previous ac router the Linksys ea6400 and I got full wireless ac wifi speed for what I pay for from Time Warner Cable. This is what I get on wireless ac on my Asus ac68u

On Wireless n mode on the Asus ac68u

I called in to Asus and Dell about this issue. Dell explained the Asus to Asus. Asus would repair it not replace it. The problem is I need to really use the internet for work. Now Amazon is kind to do a one time exception and they told me that I can upgrade to the AC87U for more. I decided to pay the extra
