[Cable] Videotron TNDCM475VDN?

Hi there,

Videotron is starting jacking up their prices again, so maybe it is time to switch out..

Just wondering if this is fine for the Videotron switch over...

Not that I don't want buy a modem via Teksavvy, but at 120$ is pretty high along with the activation fee then pre-paid one month advance... if I can save 40$, I'm gonna take it...

Is there anything special buying the modem out?

DSL is not an option to her location...

It looks like a DCM-475, it has DCM475 in the part number...

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

Hi there,

Well, I don't want to buy a modem that there is a new version coming out shortly. I don't want to end up being "force" to upgrade to a new modem anytime soon...

Well there are only two approved modems for Videotron TPIA, the DCM475 and SB6120. Regardless, they won't "force" you to change modems arbitrarily; even if they change the modem requirements, you will be grandfathered. The only scenario where you would be forced to change is if your modem had been phased out and you wanted to change speed tiers.

If I were you, I'd buy that modem.

It's highly unlikely that an 8x4 modem (like the DCM475) will be phased out any time soon. Rogers is the only incumbent provider to phase out 4x4 modems (like the SB6120).
