[Cable] can't game during off-peak?I've had my ebox connection for around 3 or so days now and i noticed at from 2am or so, i get major lag while gaming. I play league of legends and never faced such extreme lag like this before. however, my speed tests come back fine and there is nothing out of the normal when it comes to browsing the web. is there anyone else experiencing this or can maybe explain this to me? if there's nothing i can do about it then maybe ebox isn't right for me. |

Welcome with us ! Off-peak is not available right now, i tryed to get it all the weekend. :P You issue with LOL is mostly related to DDOS made by Lizard Squad. «--- Search that on google. If you experience somes lag and want to find out if it's the server or your connection, try pinging something that is outside of Ebox network, google.ca by exemple and you will see. |

Thanks for the information. I read a little about the off-peak stuff but didn't fully understand it. I'm extremely glad to hear that this is not a service issue. I've heard about a lot of streamers who got DDOSed and its quite sad that these people find enjoyment out of ruining others'. Hopefully, now that the Lizard Squad has disbanded, I can carry on playing LoL lag free. |

So it's been a few days since the incident and the problem has no yet solved itself. I have been reading about some similar situations and some are saying that it is due to packet loss. Does this have something to do with the route that the information takes to travel from me to the riot servers? Is this something that only Electronic box customers deal with? I have used other internet companies and have not heard of or dealt with this issue until now. |

You should ask whoever you "heard" it was packet loss from where the packet loss is happening, and what evidence they have to justify that assessment.
So far you're the only Electronic Box customer who seems to be having an issue. Have you called in tech support to see if they can troubleshoot from their end?
Whatever you read or hear about on the internet is of no value whatsoever unless you have actual evidence that it is what you're experiencing. |

OP, you need to post some logs if you hope to have any help here troubleshooting.
Post a few WinMTR of the servers you're trying to play on. At least from those we can see where the issue is.
A ton of game servers around the net have been getting DDOS'ed for weeks, this may be the cause. It also could be something local.
You need to provide some basic information for us to help you. |
|
|
to ggShikun
also make sure to post some winMTR during peak time when you cannot seem to be able to play. That will tell us where there is a problem (if any) on the network and if we can do something about it. |

Hi,
I'm also having huge issues with connecting to LoL. Many of my games are also extremely laggy. The issue is restricted to LoL and no other game (or anything that uses the internet. My connection works fine).
I think these problems are very common in Quebec. I've checked on the official forums and it seems that many Quebecers are having issues. My friends are also experiencing these, but all the other random people in my games aren't having any.
I'm not asking for a specific fix, but does anybody know why there seems to be a connection issue between e-box or videotron and the LoL servers? |

I think that, at this point, it's out of ebox's control. It's not an issue with eBox, your router or neibourhood. You just have to hope that Border1 fix their stuff. |

Clear as day, issue is well outside of ebox control. It's not anywhere close to their network. |

Found a solution.
You need a VPN. I started using "WTFast" yesterday and it solved all the problems. It has a 30 days free trial. I use the Chicago servers, but I haven't tried using others, so maybe there are better ones. |

Unfortunately, that cost you something... |

This sucks cuz I'm playing CS:GO perfectly but there's something really wrong with LoL. |

Same thing, however i must point out my ping is good and i'm moonwalking on the map only when more than 3 characters are on the screen, like if the servers werent able to push those data to me.
I dont think its Ebox fault, maybe the path used (not their fault either) or simply LoL's servers. It's been like that for 3 weeks, as its a free game, i play others game for the duration. Ill try to tether my phone, might be a good test. |

This sucks cuz I'm playing CS:GO perfectly but there's something really wrong with LoL. That's exactly it. Everything else works fine, it's just League of Legends. I contacted Ebox support to see if anything could be done at all. Here is the reply. Hello when it comes to league of legends there have been a lot of buzz going online about issues with there servers. Unfortunately we have no control over there servers and have no way of controlling when there servers are being saturated or even being attacked. I know in the past couple of weeks they have been victim of many DDOS attacks and this has caused severe lagging issues for a lot of people. There is nothing we can do to prevent this as these servers are not run by us and are completely out of our network WTFast does work for some people. If the problem fixes itself during the trial period then awesome, but I don't want to be paying for a VPN just so that i can play LoL. The consensus is that the fault is not on the ISP nor Riot. The issue is somewhere in between, so we are all just shit out of luck for now. |
