New Install, Way slower than advertised.

Just got service today with cable and 110mbps Internet. Install guy said that I should expect something closer to 80mbps, which I would be more than happy with.

Ran several speed tests throughout the day, different servers and all, and I am averaging 19mbps download, and similar upload speeds. The fastest I had was 22mbps.

Can someone please look into this? Is this normal?

Upstream Limit: 19000000 Forward Frequency: 699000000

Thanks!

You might want to remove your address and post your encoded mac address so someone from RCN can help you out.

See this for more information: »Posting Guidelines-How To Get Help & Who Represents RCN

Good luck

I receive the 110 promised so what you describe is unacceptable and obviously the result of some sort of problem or issue in need of repair

rngr9782, I removed your Modem Mac address for your privacy. Not a good idea to post that in a public forum.

Thanks sashwa, sorry about that.

I would also like to add that all 3 gauges in the speed test are out of spec. Is that something I can fix, or not?

Which speedtest site did you use?

I'm provisioned at 50Mbps.

When I use the "official" RCN site: »ma.speedtest.rcn.net/ I always seemed to get high 30's to 40+.

If I use the Ookla speedtest site: »www.speedtest.net/ and point to the nearest server then I get 50+ Mbps.
