Re: 2014-2015 Toronto Maple Leafs Thread

4-0 Preds after two. Leafs have a better second period but still give up another goal and cant put anything in.

Oh, and Phaneuf "attempted" to "fight". LOL.

This was the Leafs 3rd "fight" of the season, the least in the league. Quite a change from only a few years ago.

Someone remind me when Spring Training starts.

Pull the team off the ice, not like its going to make a goddamn difference the way the Leafs are absolutely s**ting the bed tonight.

Carlyle better hope and pray Shanahan didn't watch this tonight or he's out on his ass in the morning. That is a team and coach on two different goddamn *planets* right now.

They've already shown Shanny bashing back a red solo cup in the team suite, so he's seeing it. How much he drinks the rest of the way will determine how much he remembers.

Carlyle probably slipped Santorelli & Komarov a grand a piece just to get them to do *something* to try and save his job....

There is something else going on here. I've seen Toronto's talent....it's there!!!

With the Canucks we are hearing stories Kesler was "a problem" in the dressing room.
Is there a sh*t disturber in the Leafs' room? Have you guys heard anything?

Leafs traded Rask?

»www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/ ··· moments/

I must have missed that..........that's as bad as the Neely trade the dummy Canucks pulled off..

Carlyle is getting all the blame..........but those highlites I watched,Phaneuf looked terrible on 4 of those goals too.

He'll be gone by Christmas.

Yup. But, context is everything. Leafs had two hot prospects in net. Pogge and Rask. Ed Belfour had just left, and the Bruins wanted to make more time for Tim Thomas. Raycroft was rookie of the year, and looked to be solid enough to get the Leafs over the hump. I remember the argument was which of Pogge or Rask do you trade? The consensus was both were pretty even, so they stuck with Pogge. It seems the Leafs never heard of "you can never have enough goaltending"

Raycroft turned out to be a disaster, which led to Toskala, and eventually Reimer.

twasn't Reimer, it was Justin Pogge ..

Yeah..I fixed it. That's how forgettable Pogge turned out to be. He's in Italy now.

The single 9-2 loss is totally on the players.

But Carlyle has been a train wreck for Toronto. Losing record over his tenure, and repeated blowouts and collapses, reported complaints from the dressing room, poor lineup decisions, etc.

Its easy to blame, or fire, the Coach for the lack of productivity of the entire team.
To be fair the Predators are a damn good team. I would put them just slightly below TB in the East.

I think the problem is that the Leafs looked like they couldn't give a flying fadoo after the first period in that turdburger on Tuesday against the Preds..

I'm sorry but these are pro athletes here, they should be scratching and clawing for goals whether they're up 4 - 0 or down 4 - 0. The lazy, ineffectual play when they either get up by a number of goals (or down by a number of goals as was the case the last two games) in unacceptable and should be criticized by the fans and media regardless of what the players (Or MLSE) think.

Re: 2014-2015 Toronto Maple Leafs Thread

lol/sigh .. Leafs 5 Bolts 2 .. Leafs score 1st goal early in 1st .. Leafs don't wilt on giving up shorthanded goal late in 1st period (another Jake blunder) .. Leafs solid game .. consistently inconsistent; that be our Leafs ..

cheers from Toronto ..

Yeah Gardiner is really struggling to find his game... Kinda like Luke Schenn after his good rookie year.
