[Anveo] Anveo down?

I don't seem to be able to make any calls.

Cannot ping sip.ca.anveo.com

Incoming calls appear to come in.

Is this just me?

It's common to block pings. If incoming calls are working, then your connection with Anveo is fine.

What happens when you make outgoing calls? Fast busy tone? Some kind of message?

Had an outage as well. Reboot of device and things are working. Not sure what happened.

Anveo does not block pings.

If you're not getting a response then they or your route to them is down.

Anveo does route calls to their other datacenters if one goes down, so that might be why incoming is still working.

Must have been the network at work then, or maybe some kind of outage. Ping is indeed working here at home.

For those of you who had issues, verify you have DNS SRV configured in your device so that automatic failover will work.

The apparent outage did not last very long....perhaps a few minutes.

I first noticed when my softphone would not connect to sip.ca.anveo.com.

I then tried dialing multiple numbers (large enterprise toll-free and paid numbers with auto attendants) from my desk IP phone that is normally configured to sip.ca.anveo.com, with DNS SRV. In all cases, the numbers would just ring without answer....until I hung up.

I then tried connecting to sip.anveo.com on my softphone and was successfull. However, I could not reach any number that I dialed: again, every number simply rang without answer.

Finally, I called my Anveo DID (pop @ Montreal) from a cell phone. The auto-attendant picked up. When I dialed the extension for my desk phone, while I was right beside it, the line simply rang without answer however the phone did not. The desk phone showed status as connected the whole time I was staring at it (unfortunately I did not think to verify which server it was connected to).

In any case, if the Anveo system was working correctly and my phone was not "Registered" on its network, shouldn't it have gone directly to voicemail for said extension instead of ringing without an answer?

In summary, based on the troubleshooting steps I took, I feel something was definitely a miss for a bit today. Unless someone has another explanation.

Frankly I reached out more to see if the resident 'anveo' user would eventually confirm.
