I have a quick inquiry. Several years ago i setup my parents with DSL, which at the time was fine, they were receiving the back then 5/1 service. Their area must not be too great or the old wiring in the house must have been bad because initially they had to have a Bell tech come out to redo a cable from the pole to the house (demarc). Despite this, the most we were able to pull was about 3Mb, which at the time, was fine.
But now, my parents enjoy watching online videos, whether it be YouTube or Netflix, and often they complain that it buffers a lot or that it's too slow.
I was thinking of moving them to cable which is about the same price of their DSL now, hoping that it would remedy the problem. My question is, is there any discount for them an existing TSI dsl client, or would this still be considered "new" install?
We do not offer a discount if you are changing from DSL to Cable. They are 2 different entities & technologies. This would be considered a New connection & regular fee's would apply.
I actually live in Ontario and will be in Montreal on Oct 29th, will have to try to coordinate for the install the happen while i am in Montreal since my parents won't be able to deal with it on their own.
You can place an order up to 30 days in advance. If you make sure that you request a date that you are going to be available with that much leeway ahead of time, there shouldn't be a problem getting you your install date.
