Anybody hear of "Voip Much"...??I see no reviews here at all. I'm thinking of switching from vonage. » www.voipmuch.com/$9.45 unlimited seems like a really good price. |

Re: Anybody hear of "Voip Much"...??Note that their definition of unlimited is 2500 minutes, but that's still a very good price. I have no experience with them though. |

Thanks. I had vonage for 8 yrs, on a 500 minute plan and only went over once, when my son got a new girlie friend hehehe....
I should be ok with 2500. |

Re: Anybody hear of "Voip Much"...??I have voip.ms. I prefer to pay $1/mo for a DID number, then .01/minute call time. If you have a relative with whom you spend a lot of time on the phone, then you can make them a sub-account and call for free. |
|
|
Yeah, I was going to say... it depends just how little you want to pay. I use Anveo (similar pricing to Voip.ms) and I pay under $5/month. But you have to be willing purchase and configure the ATA yourself.
With companies that offer unlimited plans, they'll usually send you a pre-configured ATA that you just plug in and go. |
|
|
Yea, I don't wanna have to worry about configuring crap myself, I don't anything about these phone adapters, and then there's the wife..... things have got to work first time every time. I've checked into voip.ms before, and I've never come away confident it the overall process.(and my ability to get it all working...) |

Look at Voipo. $149 for 2 years of service, 2 lines. I have used them for quite a while and am happy. |
|
|
2 lines...?? Two separate phone numbers for that price...??? |

Same number, 2 lines. |
|
|
The technical term is 2 channels. i.e. you can have two phone calls going at the same time. |

Fongo then... They're the same service as freephoneline.ca (unlimited to *most* of canada, calling card rates for the rest of the world, and unlimited actually means unlimited). You pay a small setup fee ($50) and buy the ATA from them, they'll configure it for you and ship it by fedex. Beyond that, the cost is $5/mo + tax.
Or if you're feeling slightly more technically competent, go with freephoneline.ca. You pay a one-time $50 fee for the SIP CIP credentials, and then don't have to pay a cent ever again. It's the exactly the same service as Fongo, and I've never had a problem with them. |

Are you a Fido customer? Fido's home phone service (which includes really-unlimited Canada-wide calling and the various features like call display and voicemail) is $10/mth if you're already a customer, and it's functionally equivalent to VoIP (since you get something like an ATA to hook up your regular phones to).
Since it's driven by the cell network, it also has the VoIP-like ability to work anywhere on Fido's network (except it does not require an Internet connection). |

Well, signed up this morning. Guess we'll soon see.... |

Anveo for me, I've not paid over $7 in the last 2 years. |

Hi Rickkins / everyone, Thought we would chime in here... VoIP Much features a truly unlimited (local) calling area existing of over 1000 cities across Canada (called the Local Free Zone). Calls within this zone are not part of the fair usage policy. VoIP Much also features free calling across Canada and the United States. Only calls to locations outside of the Local Free Zone (1000+ Canadian cities) would be considered part of the fair usage policy. Local Free Zone: » www.voipmuch.ca/local_ci ··· area.aspVoIP Much also features: No contracts, Free E911 and over 30 free calling features. |

I hope they have simple instructions for the setup - it can be complicated. |

Looks tempting. Anyone a current customer for over a month or so have a quick review?
Thanks |

Hello again everyone,
If purchasing an ATA from VoIP Much, the ATA device comes pre-configured and ready to plug in and talk.
You can also purchase your own ATA elsewhere, and we will provide you with details to configure your ATA. We also support auto-provisioning for most ATA devices. |

said by Rickkins:Yup, you're missing something. LOL, yup! Their web page just says that an ATA is required. I didn't go to the sign-up page. This information should be right out in front, as a pre-configured ATA for $39.95 is a great deal. |

I'm not a fido customer, and I'm not sure I'd trust them anyway. |
