[Equip] DCM-301

Does anyone have any history with this device or could tell me if it is decent and will support 105/10 speed tier?

I don't personally have any experience with that particular modem, but my 10 year old DCM-202 was quite reliable (it was only recently retired because Comcast retired it), and the D-Link routers I currently use have also been quite reliable.

The DCM-301 appears to be an 8x4 modem, so it should have no problems with the 105 (or 150) speed tiers.

It is approved for Extreme 105, »mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/ I would consider it if I was looking for modem now, and price is good, $68.41 at Walmart.com. »www.walmart.com/ip/37550 ··· &veh=sem

I see that Comcast specifies "(HW Rev E1)" on their list for that model.

Don't know if that's something you need to check for when you purchase one, as maybe there were some issues with an earlier hardware version of it?

Current DCM-301 / HW Rev E1

Original DCM-301

The original version came out a few years ago, but I don't think it was ever available at retail. The current version HW Rev E1, »www.dlink.com/-/media/Co ··· INAL.pdf is the only one available now, and they both look different.

OK, so I guess it's the new version that Comcast performed their certification tests on and approved then. Thanks.

Looks like the Zoom 5341J with a slightly different case design and a different name on it.

Yeah, it's probably the same inside, and Zoom is highly rated on this site.

One thing i noticed today is this modem supports 105/150 but the zoom 5341j doesnt thats according to comcast web site. i have the modem and installed it it seems to run fine until there is multiple users then speeds drop down. i dont think its the router (asus ac-rt68r). Reason being when i had my sb6141 hooked up and it was running good that didnt happen. Also does any have the 150 plan with the zoom?

The Zoom 5341J not shown as approved for the Extreme 150 Mbps speed tier is due to an oversight: »Re: [Equip] got a new Zoom 5341J, liking it so far

Not sure why this hasn't been corrected yet.
